WoMe Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
WoMe ("we", "our", or "us") is a vocabulary learning app that uses spaced repetition to help you retain new words. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
- Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and display name from Google. We use this to identify your account and sync your progress across devices.
- Study progress — words you are learning, review streaks, review history, and session results. This data is stored in your personal account on Firebase Firestore.
- Custom words — any words or phrases you add manually to your personal word list.
- App usage data — crash reports and error logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. These reports do not include personal content (words or study history).
- Advertising data — the free tier of WoMe shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse device information to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK you will be asked for consent via Google's consent form before any ad is shown. WoMe Pro subscribers see no ads and no advertising data is collected.
- Purchase information — if you subscribe to WoMe Pro, the purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We receive only an anonymous confirmation of your subscription status, never your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the WoMe learning experience.
- To sync your progress across devices when you are signed in.
- To send daily study reminders (only if you enable them in Settings).
- To diagnose and fix crashes and technical errors.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. Data is processed by the following sub-processors:
4. Data Retention & Account Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account inside the app. If you can no longer access the app, see our account deletion page to request deletion by email.
5. Children
WoMe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Firebase, which is secured by Google. If you sign in with Google, no password ever reaches us. If you create an account with email and password, the password is stored and verified by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store it ourselves.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us or using the in-app account deletion feature.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via an in-app notice. Continued use of WoMe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
